The finite-field heuristic: an experiment

Apologies if you are visiting this post and expecting to find other content – I have deleted what was here previously.

As per my previous post, I have decided to relaunch this blog, focussing on software development with a particular emphasis on mathematics and geometry.

Because I publicly committed to doing it, the results of the original finite-field heuristic experiment will appear here at some point. But after that there will be nothing more, for a while at least, concerned with pure mathematics.

Blog renewal open: software development oriented towards mathematics and geometry

Apologies if you are visiting this post and expecting to find other content – I have deleted what was here previously.

It has become apparent that my original concept of an amateur pure mathematics blog is fundamentally broken. Frankly, it is rather like swimming uphill through a stream of treacle.

So I am cutting my losses (following what is sometimes called a “fail fast strategy”) by relaunching this blog focussing on software development, oriented towards mathematics and geometry. My software development background is heavy on commercial computational geometry, so that will probably be the core theme.

( My re-education in pure mathematics will continue: It’s just that I won’t be blogging about it. )

I will also be changing the writing style: It will be shorter, punchier, maybe even (sometimes) rude.
